The ICM enables users to code the reason for a patient's admission to the critical care unit, without relying on free text to describe the condition.
Please note: in Version 4.0 of the CMP Dataset the "Type" stage (1 = Surgical/2 = Non-surgical) is no longer included in the ICM. If your unit are collecting Version 4.0, please drop this stage from any condition codes generated by the below ICM builder.
